Ceilidh: the dancers pulled on their dancing shoes and enjoyed – 27 September 2020

Sunday 27th September 2020 The dancing shoes were on, and the Ceilidh caller Gary Elford ably with humour and panache led the dancers to step through lively tunes performed by the Ceilidh band comprised of the well practiced session musicians Russell Gillies, Sophia Bidwell, Alex Bidwell and Thomas Bidwell. The music was cheerful and lively, the participants showed great enjoyment of the dancing some not taking a rest for the two sets, a worthy accomplishment for a night of a traditional form of exercise that was truly enjoyable. – Judi Smitheram, Secretary I must tell you that the Ceilidh last Sunday was the best night, I have had for long time. First surprise; I had never expected to see all these folk coming in, many younger than our average patronage. Most I had not seen at the folk nights before. Last time we went to a barn dance was when Phil Garland was calling quite some years ago. So I expect there could be more who’d like to see more of this. One for the memory, many thanks -Kees Tabak
