Following on from a successful 5 date tour of the
South Ma Bell brings her Songbirds of the South show to the Christchurch
Folk Club, sharing the stage with Nelson based singer Debra Lee accompanied
by John Bevin on piano, Mike Kime upright bass with Susan Grant on guitar.
Izzy has been performing at Christchurch Folk club stages since the late 80’s
but for those newer members or folks who haven’t yet caught Izzy (Ma Bell) in
performance check her out.
She is a Scottish born contemporary folk blues jazz singer songwriter, a well –
travelled Glaswegian troubadour with a 35 year musical odyssey behind her to
draw upon, a storyteller who leaves no stone unturned.
Isabella (Izzy) Miller Bell Aka Ma Bell is a consummate professional who has
performed on a variety of stages from schools and prisons to major festivals
and events local, nationally, and internationally.
Debra Lee (Hardcastle) is an eloquent song interpreter who’s signature voice
spells sass, sensitivity, and soul. Debra has been performing in the folk and
festival scene since the early 90’s accompanied by some of the finest musicians
of the day including Jon Hooker, the Late Maurice Flannigan and Ian Edwards
who accompanied Debra at the Miller Bell production of Remembering Diana
presented at Christchurch Cathedral in 2002.

Doors open 7pm. Performance starts at 7.30pm, you will get a seat if you arrive close to 7pm.
