Dan Walsh combined ‘virtuoso playing and winning songwriting’

18th February 2018,

Fresh from a nomination for BBC Folk Awards Musician of the Year and off the back of the busiest world tour of a successful career, Dan Walsh returned for a third trip to New Zealand, and his third to the Folk Club, to promote his latest critically acclaimed album Verging On The Perpendicular. Banjo and guitar instrumentals, supported by songwriting skills that brought the many musical talents of Dan to the fore as he truly entertained the audience.

His genuine love of New Zealand was evident, this love had inspired songs which Dan shared, this connection to our country has been taken internationally.

A true tribute to the hospitality and scenery that Dan has experienced in our country and a piece of us that will be cherished by those who listen all over the world. Such a fine way for music to circle the world in song, one performance, one listener and one CD at a time.

Enthusiastic appreciation was definitely the air of the night, the buzz in the room showed how much people enjoyed the night.

I received many favorable comments, which acknowledges the enjoyment that the audience felt when a true maestro performs.
