Darrell Scott: Vocals, guitar(electric/acoustic), songwriter
Danny Thompson: ‘Victoria’ (Acoustic Double Bass)
Kenny Malone: Percussion

If you’re looking for a CD which will leave you gob-smacked, then this is the one. You’ll ‘take it from the top’ over and over again. With musicianship, humour, pathos and a damn fine attachment to the intimate sounds and thoughts of the human condition, it will have you grinning at its pure mischief. Darrell Scott’s long haul through Americana in country/jazz and the traditional/contemporary track list on LIVE IN NC leave no doubt that you are listening to an event.

Kenny’s percussion opens the set, walks hand-in-hand with the consummate talent of Danny and just as they’re established we are hit by the guitar riffs of Darrell at his best. From the first vocals you realise you’re on a ride to somewhere. Go to any website and you’ll find the superlatives. One suggests “…Scott is one of those so-talented- you-want-to-smack-him kind of guys.”

Rodney Crowell says:
“Darrell Scott’s music is equal parts talent and heart, soul and grace, power and poetry, charm and wit, funk and grit…all in service of the better parts of humanity. Darrell Scott is scarily good. Listen and learn. I’m a huge fan.”
