Molly’s Remedy -25 August 2019

25th August 2019 A night filled with vibrant and soulful music, that was awarded a standing ovation from an extremely appreciate audience. Jamie Millar, shone as the opening act. Inspiration for Jamie was fostered from his childhood, from close family: including his Mum Monica Miller anchor woman of Molly’s Remedy, his uncle Barrie MacDonald, a wealth of musical insight that stood him well on stage. His original music was a pleasure to listen to, his dexterity on the guitar awesome, all blended with enthusiasm. These creative traits will be well utlised in his career of choice as a music teacher, and I can only think that he will be an inspiration to some very lucky students.
The dynamic trio then took the stage with gusto, making it their own and winning over the jam packed audience with their energetic and lively banter, which is only usurped by their compelling harmonies and arrangements. There may be a few anxious words about Mary’s songwriting, however these transcend very quickly to sheer delight as the music takes hold, the performer’s smiles beam and the harmonies resound. Captivating is a very apt description of the performance, and the delight form the crowd was a certain testament to this. The Molly’s continue their full force ahead to soar with each new addition to their repertoire, mixed with the trusted favourites such as Chanson d’amour; Storm’s Comin’ and Chicken Soup are firm crowd pleasers to make a night to truly remember. We look forward to another date to share the wonderful talents of Helen, Monica and Mary, three women who together make marvellous music magical. Judi Smitheram Secretary
